Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. each night with the film starting at approximately 8:00 p.m. This year, no pre-registration or tickets are required.

From a shortlist of fifteen “Books to Big Screen” themed movies, the community was invited to vote for their favourite films in order to determine this year’s line-up.

With close to 5,000 votes cast in less than four weeks, this year’s Sail-in Cinema will play host lost boys, magical board games and fairytale romance on a four-story, two-sided, floating screen anchored in Lake Ontario. The winning movies and screening dates are as follows:

  • Hook on Thursday, August 18
  • Jumanji on Friday, August 19
  • The Princess Bride on Saturday, August 20

While Sail-In Cinema is a free event, there is limited seating on the landside and entry is subject to availability of space. Boat mooring will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Non-stop activities, food and entertainment will once again be offered by event sponsors prior to the start of each night’s feature film to provide a full evening of fun for all ages.
